Workshop on ‘Research Methodology and SPSS’ 6th December 2019

Research is to see what everybody has seen and to think what nobody else has thought. Research is beneficial in building knowledge, facilitating learning and so on. Following appropriate ways and using right methods increases the value of a research.
The Department of Psychology organized a one day workshop on ” Research Methodology and SPSS” on 6th December 2019, as a part of providing the students a greater insight about research. The chief guest for the workshop was Dr. Jeevanandh E S, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, UC college, Aluva.
The workshop began at 9:45 am, the official session began with a morning prayer by the choir. Mr. Jith George, Head of the Department, Department of Psychology, presented the welcome speech. The presidential address was given by Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Vazhayil Director, YIMS. The Inaugural address was presented by the chief guest of the session Dr. Jeevanandh E S. Rev. Fr. Dr. Lalu Olikkal, Vice Principal, YIMS, felicitated the session. Vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Amritha M, 3rd Bsc. Psychology. The official session was wounded by National Anthem.

After the official session, chief guest of the workshop Dr. Jeevanandh E S. provided a session for the second and third year students on the topic ” Research Methodology and SPSS”. Students were given a better understanding about Research methodology. The students received good guidance about using the SPSS software. Chief guest clarifies student’s queries and the session was wounded by presenting the Chief guest a memento.
The session was very informative. Students gained more information and knowledge about Research and have received a better insight about functioning SPSS.
