Chemistry is a branch of science which deals with matter and its transformations and its interactions with energy. It involves study of atomic composition and structural architecture of substances. The study of chemistry comprises all chemical process from the beginning of civilization to this day. Modern chemistry aids in the interpretations of complex chemistry associated with functioning of living organisms, health, disease, cure, etc. Chemistry has a fascinating world of colourful experiments which includes magics in chemistry.
Learning chemistry help students to develop the skills of reasoning and solving problems. It reveals mysteries of how things work and at the same time improve analytical skills. Besides, the subject provides a number of information required in daily life.
Opportunities that await chemistry scholars are innumerable in the fields like Analytical chemistry, Computational chemistry, Forensic science, Geochemistry, Nuclear chemistry, Marine chemistry, etc. Thus learning chemistry opens wide and new horizons for higher studies and career.
Departments
The chemistry department of yuvakshetra aims to prepare the students to meet the needs of the changing world. Though started as an undergraduate department; we are planning to upgrade it to a PG and research department. We will strive to enhance our reputation through teaching and research projects and thereby attract best students and teachers to this institution.

The department provides a creative and supportive atmosphere for faculty-mentored and student-centered learning. The department helps the students to explore the depths of the subject in classroom, laboratory and independent study experiences and also applications in daily life through laboratory based projects. Learning chemistry in this department is sure to ignite the passion for higher studies in chemistry and thereby opening opportunities in the fields of Industry, Research, Teaching, Laboratories, etc.

Eligibility
- Any candidate who has passed (eligible for higher studies) the Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with not less than 27GPV is eligible for admission to the B.Sc degree course. A concession of 3GPV will be given to OBC/OEC candidates. The SC/ST candidates need get only a pass (eligible for higher studies).
