Language being skill oriented can be learned only by practicing the four skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing. In Yuvakshetra the Department of English caters to this need of the students through various activities. The basic structure of the language is trained to the students in the annual language development programme in the college. Based on the academic need extension lectures are arranged. The creativity of the students is enhanced by providing them an opportunity to bring out a newspaper of their own, utilizing the facilities of the campus.

In order to update the recent advancement in the research field the department gives prime importance to the seminars and symposium. In the academic year 2014-15, Yuvakshetra College got the privilege to conduct a seminar in collaboration with Indian Association of Canadian Studies. We encourage our students to prepare academic papers and equip them to present it.
