Women Cell & Department of Mathematics one day webinar on “Adolescence Health and Stress”- November 30, 2020

Adolescence is a time of many psychosocial and physiological changes. One such change is how an individual responds to stressors. The type of stressors we experience and how we respond to them change throughout our life. Adolescence represents a stage in development when both of these aspects of stress are in flux. In this regard the Women Cell, Department of Mathematics jointly with IQAC conducted a One Day Webinar for the students of the department on the topic “Adolescence Health and Stress” on 30 November 2020 from 2.30 pm to 4 pm. The event was held through Google Meet Platform, The Resource person was Dr. Sumina Pambottil, Psychologist and Medical Officer, Ahalia Hospital, Palakkad. The programme started with a prayer. Ms. Shilpa S, Department Women Cell Coordinator officially welcomed the chief guests and all the participants to the programme. The inaugural address was delivered by the college Director, Rev. Dr Mathew George Vazhayil. The felicitation was conveyed by the college Principal, Dr.Tomy Antony and Vice Principal Rev Dr. Joseph Olikkalkoonal. Resource person Dr.Sumina Pambottil explained about adolescent changes, unwanted stress ,social and interpersonal changes in adolescence and menstrual hygiene. She emphasized time management which help reduce unwanted stress. Almost 45 students participated in the programme. Ms. Shilpa S, Assistant Professor Department of Mathematics, Ms. Aysha P A, Ms. Uthara U, II BSc Mathematics were the programme coordinators and Mr.Gireesh , Mr.Sujith were the technical coordinators. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms.Uthara, student coordinator Women cell.
