The departmental alumni meet of the PG Department of English SOUVENIR: A Gala of Reunion, was organized on 10 October 2020 at 10.00 AM on the virtual platform of Google Meet. Ms. Sharon Stanley from II MA English was the Master of the Ceremony. The meeting commenced with a prayer by Ms. Anu K A from II BA English. Mr. Jibin Jose P, Head, Department of English welcomed the dignitaries and all the alumni members who have gathered for the meet. Rev. Dr. Lalu Olikkal, Vice Principal, YIMS delivered the presidential address. Rev. Dr. Mathew George Vazhayil, Director , YIMS inaugurated the event.
Alumni representatives, two from each passed out batch of both UG and PG were nominated and the selected representatives those who were present in the meet introduced themselves. It was decided to conduct the selection of department Alumni President and Secretary for the year 2020-2021 through the department Alumni Whatsapp Group.
This was followed by a memory sharing session among the students and the mentors. Former HOD of the English Department Dr.Shyjee P V interacted with the alumni members. Former staff members of the department Ms. Praseeda.G and Ms. Radhika Vijayan were present during the meet. As a tribute to the alumni group, a video presentation with the pictures of passed out batches was presented by Ms. Aiswarya, from II BA English. A song was dedicated by Ms. Jeslin Jeejo, student of II BA English to make the programme more colorful. Ashima Bharathan P K Asst. Professor and Department Alumni Coordinator delivered the vote of thanks. The Meet concluded by 11.00 AM.
