Leprosy Awareness Campaign- October 2, 2019

Leprosy is chronic, infectious disease mainly causing skin lesion and nerve damage. Leprosy is caused by infection with the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. To create an awareness about the disease, the students from the Department of Psychology, in collaboration with Mundur Gramapanchayath and Health Department organized a rally on leprosy awareness, from the college campus to Ninth Mile bus stop and back to Kunnappullikkavu on 19th September 2019. Panchayath President flagged of the rally and various ward members as well as health works were present durimg the fuction. In connection with the same, the Ist and IInd year students of the department conducted a street play at Kunnappullikkavu and Mundur bus stop on 2nd October 2019. Health Inspector of Mundur panchayath gave an awarness message about detection and prevention of Leprosy
The campaign provided greater awareness on leprosy to the general public and helped students in improving their academic knowledge of the disease
