Psychology Summit 3.o

Psychology Summit InaugurationDepartment of Psychology in association with Psychology Circle conducted a three-day National level Psychology Summit.  The event was held from August 30th to September 1st 2019 on the theme ‘Wellbeing of Youth in Virtual World: Reality and Illusion’. Almost 450 students from various institutes participated in the conference that included 4 Keynotes, 16 Workshops, 2 Symposiums, Power talks, Paper presentations and panel discussion on “Psychosocial Response to Disaster: A Role of Psychologist”. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Jith George (HOD, Department of Psychology) and Presidential Address by Muhammed Sabih (President, Psychology Circle). The event was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Mathew George Vazhayil (Director, YIMS). Dr. Premanand (Associate Professor & Head Department of PG Psychology, St. Angnes Center for Post Graduate Studies and Research, Mangalore) was the chief guest of the day. Dr. Tomy Antony (Principal, YIMS) felicitated. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Jaisal Jamal (Organizing Secretary, Psychology Circle). The Keynote addresses were held by Dr Premanand, Dr. Anupam Das (Asst. Professor Humanities & Liberal Arts and Management, IIM Kozhikode), Dr. K.N. Jayakumar (Asst. Professor, Psychology Dept., Periyar University) and Dr. Kanniyan Binub (Asst. Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna). The events on 30th and 31st August were concluded by the cultural programs by the students of YIMS.

DSC_1323The valedictory function was held on 1st September and was presided by Fr. Shyju Pariyath (Asst Director, YIMS). Welcome Speech was delivered by Aparna Sreevalsan (Asst Professor, YIMS). Report was presented by Mrs Deepa Mary Thomas (General Secretary, Psychology Circle). Rev Dr Fr Lalu Ollikal (Vice Principal, YIMS) inaugurated the event.  Felicitation was delivered by Christina Mariam Chacko (Asst Professor, YIMS) and Vote of Thanks Lathif Penath (Vice President, Psychology Circle).  Psychology Summit 3.0 received high appreciatory feedbacks from the Resource persons and delegates.
