A session on gender equality, a path to empowerment for I BCOM CA & Taxation students
The Women Development Cell and IQAC of Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies, in collaboration with B.Com CA and Taxation sections, organised an awareness session on “Gender Equality: A Path to Empowerment” at Sophia Hall on August 26, 2025. The event was inaugurated with a welcome address by Ms. K. Sangeetha, Assistant Professor, B.Com CA. An official message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Shyju Pariyath, Vice Principal of YIMS, highlighting the need for inclusive practices in academic and social spheres. Ms. Rajitha Rajendran R, Section Head of B.Com CA, extended her felicitations to the gathering. The keynote session was led by Ms. Sreeja T. S., Convener of the Women Development Cell and Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, YIMS. In her talk, she emphasized the importance of ensuring equal opportunities, breaking stereotypes, and promoting empowerment for all genders. The programme carried significant relevance as it encouraged young minds to recognize the role of equality in shaping a fair society and inspired them to contribute towards building a more inclusive and empowered future. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sreelakshmi P of B.Com Taxation.
