The Postgraduate Department of English inaugurated its Two day International Conference in Hybrid mode on PERFORMANCE, EMBODIMENT AND THE POLITICS OF EXPRESSION IN A CHANGING WORLD.
The International Conference was inaugurated by Smt.Kalamandalam Barbara Vijayakumar, Chutti Artist, central Ocean Stream Theatre, UK. The inauguration was presided by the Principal Dr. Tomy Antony and Fr. Mathew George Vazhayil delivered the Keynote Address.Fr Dr. Joseph OlikkalKoonal felicitated the inauguration. Ms. Barbara and Mr. Vijayakumar led the Kathakali workshop, the offline paper presentation session was chaired by Dr. G S Aravind, Assistant Professor, VTB College and virtual paper presentation was chaired by Dr. Ningthoujam Somola Devi, Assistant Professor, N B College, Manipur. The afternoon was packed with a live Kathakali performance by Sri. Kalamandalam Vijayakumar.
The second day of the International Conference had Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Drama, University of Calicut as the main speaker. The plenary was followed by two paper presentation sessions. The conference ended by 3:30 with the valedictory ceremony.
